The Digital Production Associate produces and publishes digital media content for the ACLU’s websites, social media channels, and email action alerts. The Digital Production Associate reports to the Digital Production Manager in the Online Engagement Unit of the Communications Department. Responsible for day-to-day content publishing and assisting with other projects as needed, the Digital Production Associate has experience with HTML and CSS, Drupal, and basic graphic editing skills.


  • Publish blog posts and other content as needed to the ACLU websites.
  • Schedule and post content to ACLU’s social media channels.
  • Create and edit social media graphics.
  • Assist with video production.
  • Produce HTML emails for action alerts.
  • Respond to and handle content publishing requests.
  • Collect web, video, social media, and advocacy metrics, and produce regular metrics reports.
  • Manage and archive multimedia assets.
  • Provide ongoing support to a multidisciplinary team that manages digital communications, graphic design, video, social media, and online campaigning.
  • Collaborate with Communications and program staff to identify high-impact opportunities to increase the visibility of our advocacy, programmatic and legislative work, and to generate web traffic, email list, and social media audience growth.
  • Assist with special projects as needed.
  • Assist with weekend web and social media publishing as part of a rotating coverage schedule.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to diversity within the office using a personal approach that values all individuals and respects differences in regards to race, ethnicity, age, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, religion, ability and socio-economic circumstance.
  • Commitment to working collaboratively and respectfully toward resolving obstacles and/or conflicts.


  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience and a minimum of 1 year of experience producing content for the web.
  • Intermediate knowledge of HTML and CSS; Drupal experience a plus.
  • Ability to multi-task, perform well under pressure, and meet tight deadlines are essential.
  • Basic experience with Photoshop and video editing tools preferred.
  • Professional experience posting content to social media channels is desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills; oral and written.
