Summary of Position:


The Publicity Assistant will report to the VP of Publicity as well as work with the SVP of Publicity to assist in developing and implementing comprehensive publicity campaigns to promote Summit Entertainment and Lionsgate films. Responsibilities:

    • Create publicity, promotion and screening reports for Filmmakers and Executives
      • Coordinate interview requests with Talent representatives and Filmmakers
        • Coordinate Talent, Filmmaker, Executive travel for publicity campaigns
  • Generate review memos for films on opening day

  • Compose Talent schedules for publicity events (press days, premieres, etc.)

  • Staff will work at publicity events (premieres, junkets, award shows, etc.)

  • Update and track Quick Contacts for all current projects

  • Update and track Master Publicity Screening Calendar

  • Process invoices and update Budget Tracker

  • Assist on any publicity projects

  • Track publicity items in magazines, editorials, trades, etc.

  • Assist Field Department (when available) with their projects

  • Coordinate courier services

  • Prepare and submit awards submissions

  • Coordinate the assembly, editing and approval of production notes for each theatrical release

  • Coordinate the assembly of press kits and EPK’s including selection and approval of materials for each theatrical release

  • Oversee selection and training of publicity department Intern

  • Coordinate with various vendors and press sites to ensure material gets posted to company publicity sites

  • Pitch, coordinate and facilitate select interviews with Talent and Filmmakers

  • Negotiate deal memos for all grooming and styling for Talent and Filmmakers for all publicity

  • Code and sign off on department invoices

  • Coordinate and help facilitate special screenings for Executives, Filmmakers, Press, and Talent with various organizations when applicable

  • Coordinate with Delivery to ensure all prints are ordered and confirmed for screenings

  • Complete understanding of building and maintaining film budgets as well as the ability to process and track invoices within these budgets



Experience & Skills:


  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a marketing capacity

  • Minimum of 2 years experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications or related degree preferred

  • Willingness to work overtime and be flexible with hours

  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality

  • Superior communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of Management

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented

  • Ability to successfully manage multiple projects and deal with deadline pressure

  • Strong work ethic
