Role Purpose
This is a 17-month program designed for recent college graduates with prior experience in television production, editing, or sports journalism, who have a desire to work in sports production. The ideal candidate will be well-rounded, dedicated, and passionate about Sports digital and/or broadcasting. This program will provide an opportunity to learn on the job, and determine an area of focus within Production. There will be three rotations in the following areas: Studio/Remote Production, Features and Documentaries, and Digital Production.

  • Complete three, four to six month rotations in the fields listed above 
  • All Associates must attend Bi-Weekly PA/AP meetings
  • Proactively learn the roles of other departments and how they interact with Production – Sales, Marketing, Social Media, Programming, Communications, etc.
    Studio/Remote Production
  • Contribute to one of NBC Sports’ studio shows by first observing and ultimately performing the roles of Graphics PA and Edit/Highlight PA, as a fully dedicated staff member
  • Observe all production positions to help develop career focus: Producer, Director, Timing AD, Tape AD, Edit Producer, Graphics PA
  • Attend daily show meetings and pitch ideas for segments and features
  • Contribute to several of NBC Sports’ remote productions by first observing and ultimately performing the roles of Graphics PA and/or Edit PA, as a fully dedicated staff member
  • Coordinate shipping of tapes/drives to remotes
  • Prepare graphics drives and notes in Stamford 
  • Coordinate with promos department to ensure proper delivery of all greensheets (promos) to remotes and check all elements during setup
    Features and Documentaries
  • Locate and source footage for all assigned features – once in house, catalogue and organize all feature projects using Avid
  • Log interviews
  • Attend production meetings and all assigned edits
  • Assist on any assigned feature shoots and voiceover sessions 
  • Assist producers during edits 
  • Learn music server system to download possible tracks for use in pieces
  • Learn MAM and archive systems
  • Observe and learn roles of producer, field producer/director, and editor
    Digital Production
  • Learn and perform all control room functions (audio, graphics, teleprompter, etc.) associated with’s daily live and on-demand original programming operation
  • Learn Avid editing techniques for digital related content, including event highlights
  • Learn and perform distribution process for sending clips to, associated apps and other digital destinations
  • Assist with live event streaming operations, which include multiple functions such as live ad insertion, quick-turn on-demand highlight cutting, and more


Qualifications / Requirements


Basic Qualifications 

- Bachelor’s degree

- Minimum three (3) months of hands-on television experience via work or internship
